Diet Rx Contains
Green-Tea-Extract - Studies show green tea extract results in an increase fat
oxidation and in energy expenditure (a measure of metabolism). Green tea
contains various antioxidants, including
EGCG. Green tea extract also increases
energy. The benefits come from an interaction between caffeine and EGCG).
Hoodia extract - Hoodia gordonii has a compound called P57 that works directly
in the brain to help reduce appetite. For thousands of years the bushman of the
Kalahari Desert in South Africa have been chewing on
hoodia to stop hunger,
while they were on hunts or journeys, where there was little of no food
available to them.
Glucomannan konjac extract - Glucomannan helps to satiate and provides good
management of blood lipid and carbohydrate status along with providing fiber for
optimal bowel movements.
Ginger root - Ginger has been recognized for its medicinal properties for
thousands of years. Ginger is added to herbal formulas to help relieve nausea
and gastrointestinal side effects. Studies in rodents show ginger is involved in
maintaining healthy levels of blood sugar and cholesterol.
Cinnamon root helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
Garcinia Cambogia Citrimax - Hydroxycitric acid is derived from the Malabar
tamarind tropical fruit (Garcinia cambogia) native to India.
Hydroxycitric acid
has been found to inhibit mitochondrial citrate lyase, leading to decreased
acetyl coenzyme A production and decreased fatty acid synthesis.
Bitter melon helps with blood sugar control and increases lipid oxidation, or
fat burning.
Apple Cider vinegar is obtained from the fermentation of apple juice which leads
to acetic acid.
Spirulina is green blue algae that is considered a superfood with a high protein
content. Spirulina has antioxidants,
Apple pectin is a healthy fiber that helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
Choline is a nutrient that converts into acetylcholine. Choline increases the
mobilization of fatty acids. Choline is needed for efficient fat metabolism.
Inositol combines with choline to assist in fat metabolism.
Carnitine or L-Carnitine is a main ingredient in many diet pills and
supplements. L-carnitine is found in an enzyme complex (carnitine
acyltransferase I, carnitine translocase, and carnitine acyltransferase II) that
helps transport long-chain fatty acids across into the mitochondria where fatty
acids can be metabolized efficiently.
Pomegranate is full of antioxidants that helps reduce damage to the inner lining
of blood vessels.
Psyllium is a fiber which absorbs water within the gut, causing increased
satiety and lower caloric intake. Psyllium is also helpful in keeping healthy
blood sugar and lipid levels.
Cayenne has capsaicin helps regulate blood sugar levels by affecting the
breakdown of carbohydrates after a meal.
Coleus forskohlii contains forskolin which increases Cyclic AMP thus influencing
membrane transport proteins and increasing fat metabolism..
Fenugreek helps with blood sugar control and reduces insulin resistance.
Guggul can help a sluggish thyroid gland and help the body to burn calories more
efficiently. Guggul also helps manage cholesterol levels.
Inulin is from the chicory plant. Inulin is a prebiotic fiber that helps reduce
food absorption but improves mineral absorption, including magnesium and
calcium.
Grapefruit extract - different grapefruit constituents influence intestinal and
liver lipid transport and metabolism.
Banaba extract helps check blood sugar and insulin levels. Fluctuations in blood
sugar and insulin are related to appetite and food cravings, particularly for
carbohydrates.
Alpha lipoic acid is one of the most powerful antioxidants
Acetylcarnitine helps maintain attention and focus so you can think clearer
5-HTP converts into serotonin so you can have more will power and be less
impulsive in your food choices.
Chromium picolinate is a trace mineral that helps reduce sugar cravings and
regulates appetite by stabilizing blood sugar levels.
What Diet Rx does not have
Diet Rx has no added caffeine, ephedra or ephedrine
alkaloids, synephrine, guarana or stimulating amino acids. Users do not feel
jittery and restless. Rather, many people report feeling more balanced with a
more focused mind. Caffeine has not been
added to Diet Rx although green tea extract has small amounts of natural
caffeine. Caffeine use may lead to anxiety, irritability, nervousness and sleep
disorders for some users. However, most people who like the effects of
caffeine, normally drink a cup or two of coffee a day which provides 100 to 200
mg of caffeine. Those who drink two or more cups of coffee may wish to take one
less capsule of Diet Rx. For instance, if four capsules of Diet Rx normally
works for you, take 3 capsules if you plan to drink 2 or more cups.
Diet Rx testimonials
Q.
I have been taking Diet Rx for one week now. I have noticed that I do not feel
hungry. The biggest difference that I noticed though is no night time snacking.
I never go to bed before 2:00am and usually start my evening snacking around
10:00pm I must clarify that what I call a "snack" other people call a meal. I am
not fond of sweets so therefore my "snack" is something meaty (pork chop,
chicken
breast or steak) or a sandwich or two with all the trimmings. I have not even
thought about having something to eat in the evenings since starting Diet Rx. I
tried a diet pill once before in my life but did not like it because it gave me
an awful nervous feeling and fast heart beat. I don't feel anything like that with this diet
product. In one week I lost three pounds.
Q. I have been on Diet Rx for five days now, I am estimating that I am eating about 30 percent less food. I have lost one pound so far and I realize that I am fuller with smaller portions. So far no Diet Rx side effects except for a brief period I noticed a slight hypoglycemic type feeling for a few minutes that went away when I had a couple of almonds and raisins.
Q. I find myself eating a lot less, with little
desire for food. Before I was starving all the time. It surprises me that it
lasts all day, including through the evening. I have lost a total of 7 lbs
within two weeks. No side effects, no life style changes. This is wonderful. I
am amazed how I do not think about "late night snacking" Wow.

Diet Rx
questions
Q. Can I drink coffee if I am taking Diet Rx pills?
A. Caffeine is known to enhance some of the effects of the
ingredients in Diet Rx. However, we prefer that people limit their coffee use to
two cups a day if taking 2 Diet Rx pills, and one cup a day if taking 3 or 4
Diet Rx pills.
Q. Can you tell me how much
hoodia extract is in the Diet Rx product?
A. Diet Rx is a proprietary blend and only the formulator of the
product, Dr. Sahelian, and his research staff know the exact ingredient amounts.
Q. Can Diet Rx be taken together with a SSRI drug.
A. Diet Rx has several ingredients that work together to suppress
appetite, balance mood and increase energy. We have not tested Diet Rx with a
SSRI drug, but if your doctor approves you can start with one capsule a day of
Diet Rx. If you need to increase to two capsules, your doctor may suggest
reducing your SSRI drug dosage by a quarter or half. Each person is different on
how they respond to medicines and herbs and we can just give general information
that you can discuss with your doctor for the best option.
Q. Is Diet Rx a FDA approved diet pill?
A. The FDA does not approve or disapprove natural supplement
products. The FDA is in charge of allowing or not allowing individual herbs or
ingredients but it does not get involved in approving or disapproving a
supplement product unless one or more of the ingredients in the formula is not
allowed for sale. Any company can make available to the public a natural diet
pill and the FDA will not get involved unless one of the ingredients is not
allowed.
Q. Can I take Diet Rx if I take Armour Thyroid, a
quarter grain?
A. This is a decision your doctor has to make. He or she may
approve starting with one capsule in the morning for a few days and gradually
increasing to a second capsule before lunch. And then base the additional
capsules to take more or less, or to take both capsules in the morning, on your
response.
Q. I read about Diet Rx. My question is is it safe to
use while I'm trying to get pregnant or during pregnancy?
A. We do not suggest using Diet Rx before or during pregnancy since
a woman should put on the amount of weight that nature intended. Diet Rx
restricts appetite to a great degree.
Q. Before trying Diet Rx, I am taking prescribed statin
drugs Simvastin, will the grapefruit extract have any side effects?
A. Thus far we have not had any reports of side effects with the
use of Diet Rx and statin drugs such as Lipitor, Zocor, or others. However, we
cannot guarantee that you will have no side effects. If your doctor approves,
begin with one capsule a day of Diet Rx and gradually increase to two a day.
Q. Can the grapefruit extract in Diet Rx interact
negatively with antihypertensive drugs such as Irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide
and Amlodipine besylate / atorvastatin calcium with which eating grapefruit is
contraindicated. I like the sound of the ingredients in Diet Rx with the
question about grapefruit. I would appreciate it if you have time to answer this
query.
A. The amount of grapefruit extract in Diet Rx is not that high
compared to taking a full pill of grapefruit extract or drinking grapefruit
juice. We have not tested Diet Rx in combination with prescription blood
pressure medications. If your doctor approves, you can begin with one capsule a
day of Diet Rx and see how it works for you.
Q. I would like to accept your offer for a free bottle
of Diet RX, but in reading the ingredients I am concerned about caffeine. I
don't drink coffee or tea with caffeine, it gives me anxiety and I have read of
links between caffeine and breast cancer. Please explain any caffeine content in
your product and if it is harmful.
A. There is no caffeine added to Diet Rx, the purpose of
formulating Diet Rx is to avoid anxiety and jitteriness.
Q. I would like to order a few supplements but want to
be sure that the combination will not either "over do it" or have adverse
reactions. I am interested in Diet RX, Kava Kava, ashwagandha, Goodnight Rx and
Passion Rx.
A. We suggest not taking too many supplements together on the same
day. We don't suggest taking Diet Rx and Passion Rx together. It is a good idea
to first learn how each supplement works by itself before combining.
Q. I am looking at a Kava Kava supplement and I noticed
an offer of a free bottle of Diet Rx with a purchase of Kava Kava. Can I take
Diet Rx the day after I take the kava kava? They don't interact?
A. It is preferable to take one supplement at a time and know how
it works by itself rather than combining. Once you have a good idea of how Diet
Rx works by itself, and kava works by itself, then you may combine them. Kava
supplements should not be used more than 3 times a week.
Passion Rx and breastfeeding
Q. I just discovered Passion Rx product and was considering purchasing it.
However, I realized it might not be recommended since I am currently
breastfeeding. Are there any studies or research done on taking sexual enhancing
herbs found in this product while breastfeeding?
A. Unfortunately hardly any studies have been done with aphrodisiac
herbs in relation to safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding. To be on the safe
side, it may be preferable to wait using supplements for libido enhancement
until the breastfeeding period is over.
Diet Rx side effects
Q. I'm writing about Diet Rx side effects. I took two capsules early am. A few
hours later, I had a set of feelings that I associate with stimulants. My scalp
tightened slightly, flutters in my tummy, in the evening my shoulders and jaw
began to tighten and this AM I woke up with even more discomfort in shoulders
and my jaw. In the past I've had similar reactions to diet pills and guarana,
much stronger but in the same family of symptoms. Any suggestions? I liked that
I wasn't hungry and easily consumed only a small portion.
A. You may consider taking only one capsule. If one capsule is
still too strong for you, take the Diet Rx pill with breakfast rather than on an
empty stomach. Or, consider opening the capsule by pulling on each end and using
3/4 of the capsule in an ounce or two of water or juice on an empty stomach.
