What is Coral Calcium?
Coral calcium is a composite of 70 or so different minerals, of which calcium is the largest component. Although much is known about most of the individual minerals in coral calcium in regards to human health, we don't know much about the combination of all of them and how coral calcium supplements in general affect human health and disease. We do know that calcium and magnesium supplements have many health benefits. Many of the other minerals found in coral calcium are found in trace amounts. Some may be essential to human health whereas others may not be needed by the body. It is possible that some of these minerals could be beneficial to humans and would be difficult to obtain from regular food or other sources.

Much has been said about coral calcium, but in reality little is known about the benefits or risks of coral calcium. I am not aware of any published studies regarding the long term (or even short term) use of coral calcium supplements.
If anyone is aware of such studies, I would be glad to review them. I plan to keep an open mind about coral calcium, and will provide an informed opinion as soon as I come across reliable research.
